More information

Moss rose Madame Louise Leveque was bred in France by Pierre Louis Leveque (1839–1925, the son of a gardener who became a breeder) and was named in honor of his wife, Clarisse Ferrand. A fragrant cultivar with large pearl‑pink blooms. Mature bushes are capable of repeat flowering. A park rose in the Moss group, it is frost‑resistant, but for dependable overwintering it requires shelter. Fragrant double flowers keep a cupped form until fully open. The blooms are quite large, in a warm soft pink tone. The petals have a silky texture. With age, the flowers fade slightly. A single significant issue is that in rainy weather the petals can rot.
