In the first half of the 20th century, numerous Hybrid wichurana (Hybrid wichurana) were raised in France. This rambler bears clusters of bright pink flowers with golden stamens at the center, which fade to delicate pink. The blooms are produced on slender, flexible shoots. The flat, often flattened and slightly disheveled rosettes have an apple scent. The variety reaches 4.5 m and is covered with abundant dark green foliage. The young shoots are bronzed. Grows well on poor soils and tolerates semi-shade.
