More information

A vigorous plaited rose with arching canes. Clusters of moderately double blooms open from dark, pointed buds. Wavy petals range from fuchsia to cyclamen pink, with a stable purple reverse. Flower diameter 6–7 cm. Stamens are visible at full bloom. Self-cleaning. Light fragrance. Flowering is continuous; deadheading increases profusion (otherwise hips form, yet new clusters still develop through summer and autumn). Each inflorescence weighs 500–1000 g. In heat, blooms do not scorch and retain color.

Dense, strong shrub, about 300 cm tall and 150 cm wide. Well-leaved along the entire height. Shoots redden as they mature. Quite thorny. Disease-resistant. Frost-resistant.

Suitable for arches, arbours, and columns. Can also be trained over wood.

Louise Dupin (Louise Dupin) was a French aristocrat and salon hostess. She died at Chenonceau Castle in 1799 at the age of 93.
