More information
Dark red, fragrant roses have been extensively cultivated and distributed in horticulture and commerce. Thousands of such varieties have been developed in the last two centuries. Liebeszauber is one such variety. The color is blood red—a dark, uniform shade with velvety tones. Flowers appear almost always singly, sometimes in clusters of up to 5, on long, strong shoots. It reblooms at short intervals through the season. The bush is vigorous, spreading, and branched, with strong, thick shoots; foliage is large, dark, and disease-resistant, and young growth is crimson. In Germany it usually does not exceed 80 cm, but in hot climates it can reach 2.5 m.
