More information
The first variety of tea-hybrid rose, representing a stage between historical and modern roses.
The variety has large, heavy flowers and relatively thin stems, resulting in a “nodding” or “weak-necked” flowering form. It blooms profusely throughout the flowering period. Bushes grow upright, rarely exceeding 1.5 metres in height, with branching reminiscent of their tea ancestors. The flowers are dense, up to 60 petals, with a strong fragrance. Compared with modern roses, the variety shows lower vigor, less refinement, and reduced frost resistance, and it documents a transitional period in the development of roses.
