Blooms are blood-red, vivid, with a velvety sheen, large (11–12 cm), semi-double (15–20 petals), slightly fragrant, borne singly and in inflorescences (up to 4). Leaves are dark green, leathery, glossy. Spines are rare. Shrubs are vigorous (80–90 cm), broad, dense. Flowering is abundant. Disease resistant. Winter-hardy. Suitable for group plantings and for cutting.
