More information

Series: Velvet Roses. Velvet Rose has a deep, saturated red flower color with a dark opal tone. Cited as an achievement in the former USSR and meeting international industrial-rose quality standards. Buds are pointed and elongated. Large double blooms, 12–14 cm across (individuals up to 16 cm), with about 60 petals, dark red with a black sheen and a velvety effect. Predominantly fragrant; flowers of Kazakhstan Yubileynaya are borne singly on thin shoots with few thorns. Bushes are vigorous and upright (under Alma-Ata conditions, plant height reaches 120 cm). Foliage is glossy, large, dark green. Characteristics include good winter hardiness, high suitability for propagation by cuttings, and use in group plantings. Flowers open slowly; each bloom retains its appearance for 12–15 days. Peduncles are long and strong, suitable for bouquets. Flowering starts early and continues with short pauses until frost. Recommended for group plantings and for growing for cutting.
