More information
Josephine Bruce bears dark crimson flowers and has maintained popularity for over half a century. The rose lacks the intensely sweet fragrance typical of many crimson hybrid tea roses. The variety is very prickly and exhibits a growth habit in which young shoots spread sideways rather than growing upward. The blooms present a defined form and velvety petal surfaces. The variety is susceptible to black spot and powdery mildew, but it grows reliably worldwide. There is a pleached variety that is less than 3 m tall and is covered with flowers from top to bottom.
