Flowers are yellow with white outer petals and hints of apricot, and they have a spicy, musky scent. The bud has a classic form, with the midrib visible at full bloom. The foliage is dark green and glossy. The rose is named in honor of the Dutch artist Jan Barthold Jongkind.
