More information
This recently bred rose is not consistently classified as a brown rose, yet the colour is coffee-toned. The cultivar name corresponds to the colour. Buds display mixed cool and warm shades, from rich to pale yellowish-brown, resembling the liquor. In cold weather a smoky, coppery patina appears. The overall tone is warm. For a hybrid tea rose, the blooms are not large (about 8–9 cm). Although the flowers are more double than those of the Julia's Rose cultivar, to which Irish Cr?me is very similar, they eventually reveal a midrib. In bright, hot sun the blooms turn golden apricot, so shading from the midday sun is recommended. Leaves are thin, matte, olive-green. In semi-bloom, especially in cold weather, the smoky coppery overlay is most evident. As flowering progresses, the petals bend downward and curl.
