More information
Sometimes a rose is released for sale outside the country of its origin, in a region where the cultivar has shown strong performance. Hector Berlioz is one such example. Based on reports from Harkness agents in France, the variety is distributed throughout the country, whereas in its native UK it remains not widely available. The flowers are large, scarlet, with long petals and a regular outline, and they are visible from a distance. They most often appear singly, though sometimes two or three open together, carried on long, strong shoots that are suitable for cutting and for large bouquets. Suitable for planting in gardens, including locations with hot climates. The foliage is large, dark, and disease-resistant, and the bush is branched. Blooming is repeat and abundant.
