Large, rich pink flowers with a hemispherical form and numerous yellow stamens. The shrub is vigorous, strongly branched, and disease-resistant. Fragrance of rose and honey. Forms a substantial bush.
Heather Austin produces globular blooms. The flowers are very rounded and closed, rarely opening fully. The reverse of the petals is slightly darker. Blooms appear singly or in clusters of up to 5. The bush is fast-growing, reaching 2 m even in a cold English climate. Shoots are very spiny; the foliage is matt and disease-resistant.
