Very thorny.
Flowers are double, cup-shaped, pink with a cream center, 6–7 cm in diameter.
Scent is noticeable.
Once-blooming, in early summer.
Leaves are small, dark green, on reddish shoots.
After flowering, large dark red hips develop.
The shrub reaches 150–180 cm in height and can spread wider than it is tall.
Cold-hardy.
Prefers full sun.
Grows best in humus-rich, loamy, well-aerated, moisture-retentive, slightly acidic soil.
Small foliage; autumn foliage shows coloration.
