It grows as a shrub or as a creeping, climbing bush. The climbing form can reach 4 metres in height. Flowering is once-blooming. It blooms for about 2–3 weeks. The flowers are produced in abundance. Each flower measures 3 cm. Prolonged rains and hurricane-strength winds can cause damage to the blossoms.
