Dark-red, medium-waved (26–40 petals) flowers with strong fragrance, borne mostly singly on shoots. The foliage is large, dark green.

Velvety, dark red flowers with black shading. The blooms are large, broadly opening, and strongly fragrant. The first flowering is abundant; later flushes are much lighter. The foliage is leathery and dense, and is susceptible to powdery mildew. Shoots are stiff and tough.
