More information
Pale green blossoms of the rose Greensleeves arise from pink buds, typically in clusters. For cut use, harvest the clusters just before petal drop, just prior to petal fall. The colour remains after cutting, and the blooms persist for several days. In garden plantings, the flowers often display speckling and small spots. The shrub is bare toward the base, and the dark green foliage is susceptible to black spot; this cultivar was introduced in 1980 by Jack Harkness and is employed in floristry. In bush form, performance can be inconsistent. A pleached sport is an option—repeat bloom often occurs through the flowering season.
