More information
Green Tea rose is a cut-flower variety. The goblet-shaped bud, up to 7 cm, holds about 25–30 petals. The petals are pale green, rounded, with a slightly wavy edge. This wavy margin gives the bloom a double appearance. When open, the flower reaches about 10 cm in diameter and resembles a deep bowl. The stem is straight and tall, up to 90 cm. Thorns are few. The leaves are glossy, large, and dark green. Fragrance is faint. Suitable for cutting; in a vase it lasts up to 13–14 days. Disease resistance is above average, though it can become diseased in unfavorable years.
This variety is often confused with another rose called Green Tea, bred by Italian breeder Alessandro Ghione in 1997. That rose has the same color but belongs to the patio group.
