More information

Goldstern is considered a kordesii hybrid: it has large, dark green, glossy foliage and good winter hardiness. The flowers are large, double , cup-shaped, and open to reveal golden stamens. Petals are deep yellow, fading to lemon-yellow at the edges. Blooms appear singly or in small clusters (rarely more than four) and withstand rain well. The first flowering is profuse, followed by single blooms until frost. In hot regions Goldstern grows as a low climber, while in colder regions it forms a spreading shrub and is very winter-hardy. The bush is vigorous and branched. Black spot is possible.

A yellow variegated rose. Without support, the plant forms a robust bush up to 1.5 m high with arching shoots. The leaves are small and susceptible to powdery mildew.

This large-flowered pansy rose bears large (12 cm), double , very fragrant, rain-resistant flowers that maintain a rich yellow color well and only slightly fade before the petals curl and drop. Red stamens emphasize the strong color. The bush branches to 3 m and reblooms profusely.

A very winter-hardy variegated rose. Although bred by another German nursery, Tantau, it descends from Cordes hybrids. It is usually grown as a pleached rose, though it can be allowed to grow bushy where space permits. Suitable for cold, wind-exposed sites. It flowers in clusters of double, 10 cm blooms, forming flat, informal rosettes. The fragrance is light. The foliage is bright green, shiny, and disease resistant; young foliage is reddish, providing contrast with the flowers.
