R giraldii is a pink species rose with small, single flowers of about 1.9 cm in diameter, usually with 5 petals. Blooms are small, borne mostly singly or in small clusters, from small ovoid buds, and it flowers once in spring or summer. The plant has small foliage with 7 to 9 leaflets, and grows to about 100–200 cm in height and around 185 cm in width. It is suitable for USDA zones 6b through 9b. The species was described as R. giraldii Crépin in 1897.
