Red to deep red with a golden-yellow center. Tea scent. Large, double (17–25 petals), cup-shaped blooms. Blooms in waves throughout the season.
Bush with strong branching.
Height 90–200 cm. Width 60–180 cm.
USDA zones 6b to 9b (default).
Produces a bushy plant. Flowering continues until frost. Dark green foliage.
As with tea roses, it favors warmth and requires protection in cold regions.
Joseph Simon Gallieni was a French general, born at Saint-Réa in Haute-Garonne on 24 April 1849. He died at Versailles on 27 March 1916. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of Marshal of France on 21 April 1921.
