While this rose can reach up to 1m in height, it is typically kept hard-pruned and used for low hedges, remaining about 30cm tall. Its large, blood-red blooms are carried on short, branching stems. The flowers are densely double, in the old-fashioned rose style, with many small, corrugated petals. Flowering is very abundant. The shrub is disease-resistant, compact, and branching. Suitable for small gardens and especially popular in container culture. Blooms almost without interruption until late autumn.
