More information
Ferdy is a once-blooming rose. Flowering is prolonged; at peak the bush can be completely covered with flowers, with very abundant bloom. The flowers are small, semi-double, coral pink, then darken to red (especially in hot weather). Suitable for hedges or mass plantings during peak flowering. The leaves are small, glossy, and highly disease-resistant. The stems are curved. The bush is dense, branched, and erect. Abundant flowering is supported by a large number of small branches that bear the flowers. The blooms persist on the plant, so trimming after flowering may be used to neaten the shrub. It is best not to prune beyond a light trim; more severe pruning will greatly reduce the following year’s blooms.
Insufficient winter hardiness in northern regions; good shelter is required.
