Preferences for scents vary widely: what appeals to one person may not appeal to another. Felicite Parmentier is an ancient hybrid Rosa alba with a pronounced fragrance. Its flowers are borne in tight clusters. They are soft pink, densely double, with a classic, rounded form. The shrub is compact and low, with bright green foliage, and shows disease resistance. Early cuttings root well. Felicite Parmentier blooms only once each season, with a display lasting several weeks.
As a rule, alba roses form large shrubs, and their vigour can overwhelm small gardens. Felicite Parmentier is an exception, with a more compact habit that does not crowd neighbouring plants. The blooms appear in clusters. They are soft pink, saucer-shaped, and quartered. Each bloom shows a green “button” at the centre. When not in flower, the shrub carries grey-green foliage.
Shade tolerant variety.
