Gallic rose, pink in color. Scented, nodding, deep cup-shaped blooms with a central button; the outer petals and the reverse of the petals are lighter. Single-flowering. Leaves are large, oval, finely toothed, with the tip often not pointed. Foliage ranges from medium to dark green, while young foliage remains light for a long time. The shrub is fountain-shaped, 120 cm tall. Shoots bear small thorns and bristles. Fanny Elssler, also Franziska Elssler (1810–1874), Austrian dancer.
