More information
At first the blooms appear apricot, but the true color is creamy, with a dark apricot reverse on the petals. Later, the yellow tones fade and the flower becomes pale pink and cream. Blooms are open, cup-shaped, and prone to rain damage. They form large clusters of 3–15 (usually 9), and the trusses are very dense. The foliage is dark, and the shrub is very prickly. Repeat bloom is limited; removing spent flowers stimulates the formation of new flower-bearing shoots.
