Low-growing floribundas are commonly used in flowerbeds. When they are white and very free-flowering, they integrate into varied colour schemes and diverse planting designs. Edelweiss illustrates this category as a floribunda cultivar. Its flowers are snow-white, with a yellow spot in the centre that reflects off the partly hidden stamens. At full expansion, the stamens are brown in colour. The blooms are carried in large yet rather dense clusters, usually comprising 5–10 flowers, and they tolerate rain better than many white roses. Edelweiss forms a compact, well-branched plant, but is also tall in growth habit. The foliage is medium-sized, dark, and glossy. Flowering is nearly continuous, with little interruption.
