More information
Easy Does It has gained broad acceptance within the world rose-growing community and is becoming popular in the USA, Australia, South Africa, and Japan. A frequently cited reason for this rise is resistance to black spot. Many rose varieties also resist this disease, yet such resistance is often associated with a reduction in distinctive floral character; Easy Does It maintains a recognizably individual appearance with large blooms and a profusion of carved-looking petals. The initial scarlet coloration at the start of opening shifts sequentially to orange, then peach, then raspberry, and finally, at full bloom, becomes light pink. Under optimal maintenance, flowering continues throughout the season.
The variety was named in California by Weeks Roses, its distributor in the United States. The company has included the cultivar in its Easy to Love collection, a lineup of easy-care roses. Within this collection, Easy Does It appears alongside two other Harkness roses already represented there: Easy Going and Livin’ Easy (Fellowship).
