More information
Dronning Margrethe was personally selected to carry the name of the Danish Queen. This cultivar has a compact habit. The blooms are pale pink, with darker coloration on the undersides of the petals and toward the center. Flowers are often flattened, with broad outer petals surrounding a calyx of smaller central petals. They appear in clusters of 3–9, often drooping and subject to severe damage in wet weather or cold climates. They appear in large numbers, and the plant re-blooms so quickly that the shrub is rarely without flowers. The foliage is very dark, glossy, and disease resistant. Used with other plants in mixed plantings, and also in mass plantings in flowerbeds.
