Château Chenonceau, in whose honor this variety was created, is a Renaissance château in the Loire Valley. In French history it is known as a "female" castle. The shrub is used in flowerbeds. Its double blooms are fragrant and show tones of pink, orange, and apricot. The shrub is vigorous.
