"Cuisse de Nymphe emue" differs from "Cuisse de Nymphe" by its deeper, more uniformly pink colour.

Periniers Loubert cites Dumont de Courcet as the breeder with a date of 1802; this likely refers only to the first mention in Dumont de Courcet’s books. Prevost records that Vibert named this rose "Belle Therese," which does not indicate he was the breeder. Hardy states in his 1837 catalogue that he was the breeder.

"The colour of the thigh of the frightened nymph" belonged to a long list of elaborate flower names used in the eighteenth century.
