More information
This vividly colored floribunda is frequently promoted as part of Delbar’s Painter roses series, though it was actually bred by Jackson & Perkins in the USA. Newly opened blooms are lemon yellow with red striping, later shifting to creamy pink. Yellow typically prevails over red, though on some individual blooms the red can dominate. Patterning varies from flower to flower. Blooms are borne singly or in clusters of up to 5, well-formed, with many broad, short petals. It reblooms abundantly.
The scent is bergamot-like, most pronounced in half-light. Flowers are large, showing white, red, and yellow tones. Very abundant flowering. Height 50–100 cm.
The full blooms display spots, stripes, and strokes of yellow, cream, pink, and muted red. The coloration changes as the bloom opens: starting in warm hues and gradually “cooling,” and at the final stage the petals show spots and irregular strokes of delicate pink with a presence of blurred purple. The fragrance is complex, combining fruity, citrus, and rose notes with a hint of vanilla.
