More information
White roses are difficult to breed; therefore, white cultivars are relatively uncommon within English and hybrid tea classes. Claire Austin produces cup-shaped buds of delicate lemon colour that open into large, creamy white flowers, typical of the musky English rose group. The petals are neatly arranged in concentric circles, with a more loosely arranged centre. The fragrance is strong, dominated by myrrh with notes of meadowsweet, vanilla and heliotrope. The shrub has an arched framework with numerous, well-clothed shoots. A vigorous, comparatively disease-resistant variety.
