More information
Poulsen’s Renaissance series combines the old-rose flower form with the health and abundant flowering of modern roses. Clair Renaissance exemplifies this. The blooms open like classic large-flowered hybrid tea roses, borne singly or in clusters of up to 5. The color is milky pink, with a very pale salmon-pink tone on the reverse of the petals. The overall effect is pale apricot, fading to white toward the petal edges. As they mature, the blooms take on an antique-rose look, with many small petals forming a loose rosette. Stems hold well in a vase and are suitable for garden use. The bush is upright, with dark green foliage.
After the first rapid flush, new but more moderate waves follow. The flowers are cup-shaped, with an open center showing red stamens and golden pollen. Petals are creamy pink, and in newly opened blooms carry an apricot tinge. The fragrance is fresh and sweet. Inflorescences are held above glossy grey-green foliage. The bush is upright.
