More information

This variety produces abundant bloom. It starts early and continues until the first frosts. It responds strongly to good care: feeding and foliar spraying promote larger flowers and stronger growth. Buds are coral; on opening the blooms are salmon pink, later fading to pale pink. The reverse of the petals remains darker. Flowers are slightly cupped, borne in small clusters of usually 3–7, with a sweet fragrance. Young growth is burgundy. Height reaches 200–400 cm. It is susceptible to powdery mildew and black spot, yet it continues to grow and flower when affected.

A soft pink pleached rose with darker, sometimes bronze, highlights. Foliage is dark green and glossy. The bush is upright; shoots may droop under the weight of the flowers. Blooms through summer and autumn. Tolerates partial shade and poor soils.

An abundantly flowering pleached form with semi-double, delicate pink blooms. Buds are bright pink, pointed, and carried in large inflorescences. Flowering persists through summer and autumn. The scent is moderate, with a faint fruity note. Young shoots and foliage are reddish-brown, later turning dark green. With appropriate siting, it shows resistance to powdery mildew. Regular feeding is recommended, as strong growth requires energy: this liana reaches 2–4 metres in height depending on the support. Although insects visit the flowers, no hips are produced.

Clair Matin has semi-double, rounded, medium-sized flowers (6–7 cm), salmon pink fading to pale pink. They open from coral buds, with the petal reverses remaining darker. Blooms appear in small clusters (usually three to seven) and are sweetly scented. The plant reaches up to 2 m when grown as a bush (4 m when trained as a pleached rose) and flowers almost continuously. It responds well to attentive care.

This large-flowered, variegated pleached rose is highly rated by the American Rose Society. Elongated reddish buds open to semi-double, cup-shaped or flat flowers 5–6 cm in diameter. Blooms are initially soft pink, often becoming salmon pink with age, with a creamy tint on the inner wavy petals surrounding bright golden stamens. Flowers are produced in large clusters. Fragrance is light. It flowers heavily in early summer, followed by strong repeat waves. Glossy dark green foliage covers erect or slightly drooping, moderately prickly shoots. It can be grown as a large bush. Disease resistance is medium.

Buds are pointed. Flowers are soft pink, cupped to flat, persistent, semi-double (12–19 petals), medium-sized (5–6 cm), fragrant, in inflorescences of up to 6, on stout pedicels. Leaves are dark green and leathery. Strong-growing, dense bushes to 3 m, with whip-like shoots. Flowering is abundant and prolonged. Winter-hardy. Strongly affected by powdery mildew. Suitable for vertical gardening and group plantings. Introduced by GBS in 1979 . Shade-tolerant variety.
