More information
When this miniature rose by Ralph Moore reaches peak bloom, many flowers are open. In the garden, the colour of the rose varies. About 40% of the blooms show the target look—large, fragrant cold beige, a colour reminiscent of milk chocolate. The rest of the time the colour is not brown. In very cold weather, Café Ole turns grey with a bluish-lilac cast. In normal weather, the flowers are closer to white with a warm greyish-brown tinge. Only a combination of hot days and preferably cold nights produces that colour. The flowers are damaged in wet weather, appearing in several waves with noticeable intervals between them. The bush is strong-growing, large for a miniature rose, and disease resistant, but the foliage is sensitive to chemical spraying.
