More information
Cafe Latte displays light copper outer petals that encircle a delicate brown-purple center. The blooms are large, and their colors contrast sharply. This rose is characterized by an unusual, old-fashioned flower form with strongly ruffled petals. The flower shape varies widely because the ruffled petals form many configurations. As in many hybrid tea roses, Cafe Latte has glass-shaped flowers that open from tall buds. In some blooms, the central petals twist so the flower appears divided into two or three equal sections. As the bloom matures, it flattens and takes on a rosette form. It begins to open in bright copper with a hint of orange, then gradually lightens. At full bloom, the color becomes "coffee and milk," with light yellow spots on the inner petals near the stem. With age, purple hues appear. The fragrance is vanilla-like. The shrub is tall, about 150 cm. It is grown for cutting, as it holds its bloom for a long period (10–12 days).
