More information
One of the few coffee-variegated pleached roses (another being the grey-brownish Ash Wednesday). Flowers are large, cup-shaped, in large brushes like polyanthus roses. The colour matches the name: shimmering golden, creamy-yellow, straw-coffee shades that later fade to tea beige, especially in the centre. The bush is strong but neat; the foliage is bluish and resistant to disease.
Breeder William Warriner wanted to name this rose “Coffee and Cream,” a title reflecting its coffee-brown colouring that burns out with age. The flowers are lightly fragrant, 11–13 cm in diameter, with 25 petals, cup-shaped. The rose blooms in small brushes all summer long. The bush grows slowly and reaches about 1 m.
