More information

Buds of ‘Burgund 81’ are almost black, carried on long, sturdy shoots. They are conical, with outer petals reflexing at the edges as they open. The blooms are dark crimson-red, contrasting with bright red inner petals. At full expansion, the flowers lose definition and form an irregular mass of petals. Flowers occur singly or in small clusters. The foliage is dark green, glossy, and disease resistant; the bush is branched and upright.
