More information

Flowers are pink, becoming lighter as they open, double, with 30–40 petals per bloom and a diameter of 3–4 cm, and have a strong sweet fragrance. Blooming is abundant and prolonged. Flowers are borne in corymb inflorescences; during peak flowering, 10–17 flowers may be present simultaneously on a single peduncle.

The shrub is vigorous, with strong, upright shoots. Foliage is medium-sized, dark green, and matte.

‘Queen of the Bourbons’ is a Bourbon (often also classified among Hybrid Bourbons) rose, introduced in 1834. It flowers once heavily in clusters along long canes, with occasional autumn rebloom. Blooms are medium pink with mauve tints, revealing golden stamens as they open. It can form a large shrub when grown free-standing and is suitable for use as a large hedge. Synonyms include ‘Celine’, ‘Reine de l’Ile de Bourbon’, and ‘Queen of Bourbons’.
