More information

Blythe Spirit bears small, double, soft yellow flowers set right among the foliage. They appear in large numbers all summer; spent blooms should be removed so the plant does not set hips, which would delay the next wave of flowering. The fragrance is light, with musk and a hint of myrrh. The shrub is dense and well-branched, medium in height and about the same in width. The leaves are fine-textured, bright green, and highly disease-resistant.

This freely branching shrub of equal height and width blooms all summer in abundant clusters of pale yellow double flowers with a faint musk scent. The foliage is grayish green. Until recently, David Austin listed this variety as a continuous-flowering shrub rose, but this does not affect its care. Light pruning is recommended, as for park or shrub roses.
