More information

Bernstein is German for amber, a reference to the color of this low-growing floribunda. When first opening, the blooms reveal a twisted center in the style of an English rose. Flowers appear in clusters of 3–7, and the plant blooms abundantly throughout the season. It withstands rain well; the bush is compact and frost-resistant. German nurseries sometimes describe Bernstein Rose as a more compact and more frost-resistant version of Amber Queen. Leaves are glossy, dark green, and usually show high disease resistance.

The cupped flowers display an “old-fashioned” form and amber-yellow coloration. Bushes are compact, about 70 cm high, with dense, dark green leaves. No special cultivation problems are noted.
