More information
This is one of many cultivars bred by Garrett Fryer in the UK, arising from continued selection within hybrid tea roses over time. Belle Epoque produces bronze yellow flowers, while the darker underside of the petals is orange with rusty brown and pink shades. The two surface colours form a clear contrast that is most visible when the bud is at the half-open stage, where both sides can be seen. The buds are conical in form and open into slightly cup-shaped flowers. Blooms are borne singly or in small clusters on a strong, tall bush that begins blooming early in the season. Repeat flowering follows without much delay after the first flush. The foliage is tough, healthy, and bright green in appearance.
