More information

Baie des Anges Romantica, a new Meilland rose for 2019, is dedicated to the Baie des Anges (Baia degli Angeli) in Nice and the gardens along the Promenade des Anglais. The Baie des Anges ROMANTICA rose (translated as “Cove of Angels ROMANTICA”) was presented by Meilland at the 11th Grand Prix La Rose awards ceremony organised by the French National Society of Horticulture . It produces numerous densely double pink blooms that appear continuously from spring to frost. The flowers are intensely pink, with about 75 wavy petals that create a rippled effect. Petals have a silky texture, in a soft luminous bright pink that lightens slightly as the bloom opens. The blooms are flat rosettes reminiscent of old roses, 8–9 cm in diameter, borne in clusters of 2 to 7. The fragrance is intense with citrus notes. The shrub is compact and well-branched, about 60–80 cm tall and 50 cm wide, with dark green foliage showing a bright red tint on young shoots, and high resistance to fungal diseases.
