Ave Maria buds are light scarlet with an orange hue, elongated, and classic in form. As they open, the flowers display large petals and shift to salmon pink. Although classified as a hybrid tea, the blooms often appear in clusters of 3–7. They are borne on long shoots and are suitable for cutting. Tolerates rain well and shows a distinct sheen; used in flowerbeds as a bright accent. The bush is medium-sized and upright, with glossy foliage, and the shoots are dotted with small thorns.
