Anemone is a Hybrid Laevigata rose with light pink, large single blooms about 20 cm in diameter. Flowers are strongly fragrant and have about 5 petals, with a single bloom form. It can flower again later in the season. The plant has a climbing growth habit and glossy dark green foliage, reaching up to about 400 cm in height and 300 cm in width. It is suitable for USDA zones 6b through 9b and may require protection from spring freezes. It was bred in Germany by J. C. Schmidt / Blumenschmidt around 1896. The rose has been introduced under several names in different countries, including 'Sinica Anemone' in Australia and 'Pink Cherokee' in Japan.
