More information

This rose is a hybrid between Rosa canina and Rosa gallica. Flowers are rose-pink, single, with about five petals, produced in large clusters. The fragrance is strong and sweet. It blooms once in spring or summer. The plant has an arching, dense, spreading growth habit with dark green foliage. It can reach up to 200 cm in height and about 185 cm in width. It is suitable for USDA hardiness zones 6b through 9b. The cultivar was introduced in the United Kingdom by Hillier Nurseries Ltd. around 1912 under the name 'Andersoni'. The parentage has been described variously as involving Rosa canina, Rosa gallica, or Rosa arvensis, and some plants in cultivation under this name have been identified as Rosa collina 'Andersonii'.
