Amadeus (registered as KORlabriax) is a red, large-flowered climbing rose bred by W. Kordes & Sons in Germany in 2003 and introduced under the names ‘Amadeus’ and ‘Super Conquerant’.
It forms a branched, upright, densely foliated shrub with a tall, bushy, climbing habit. The plant typically reaches about 200–250 cm in height and 100–110 cm in width. Foliage is large, glossy, and dark green.
Flowers are bright red, double, and medium-sized, about 8 cm in diameter, with approximately 17–25 petals and a mild fragrance. The color shows little tendency to blue. Blooms are produced in clusters of about 5–7 and appear in flushes throughout the growing season.
The variety is classified as disease-resistant, with strong resistance to blackspot and mildew. It is suitable for USDA hardiness zones 6b–9b and can be used as a cut flower, garden rose, landscape rose, or pillar rose. Regular deadheading and periodic pruning of old or unproductive wood are standard cultivation practices for this variety.
