More information
Allgold is recorded as the first yellow floribunda that did not fade—at least in England, where it was bred. It performs better in cold climates, and the blooms tolerate rain. Flowers open from globular buds into loose, semi-marginal blooms of pure, bright yellow. They appear singly or in clusters of up to 10. The foliage is fine, glossy, and resistant to diseases; flowering occurs in waves with small breaks. A plethystic sport is noted.
An older classic floribunda, still available on the market.
The flowers are buttercup yellow, with 20 petals, small, and faintly fragrant. Leaves are green and heavily glossy. Disease resistance is noted. It blooms early and continues almost until late autumn. Flowers retain clear, bright colour even in rainy weather. Compared with newer yellow-flowering floribundas, this variety has sparse foliage and fewer petals per flower.
