‘Allen Chandler’ is a tall climbing Hybrid Tea, large-flowered climber with crimson-scarlet blooms. Flowers are large, about 12.7 cm in diameter, semi-double with 9–16 petals, usually borne singly or in small clusters, with long pointed buds and a mild fragrance. It flowers in flushes throughout the season. The plant has large, glossy, dark green, leathery foliage and few or no thorns. Typical height ranges from 150 to 520 cm, with a width up to 245 cm. It is suitable for USDA zones 6b through 9b, can be used as a garden or pillar rose, is hardy, vigorous, heat tolerant, and produces orange-red decorative hips. The rose was bred by Allen Chandler and introduced in the United Kingdom in 1923 under the name ‘Allen Chandler’, and later introduced in Australia in 1925 under the same name.
