More information
This variety has won numerous medals. The blooms are old-style, in a delicate apricot tone, with petal edges shading to more orange or copper and an almost cream base. The bloom form is cabbage-like; typically one flower per stem, occasionally 2–3. The shrub is vigorous, well-clad with foliage, and disease resistant. It flowers almost continuously through summer, but is spoiled by rain.
Shrub 120–150 cm tall, well-branched and very strong. Flowers are susceptible to rain damage; blooms are large and rounded.
A rose from the Romance series, classified as a tea-hybrid. Large, elongated orange buds open to almost globular, very double flowers 8–11 cm in diameter with slightly notched petals in various shades of peach-orange (colour usually brighter in cold weather). The fragrance is medium strong, with spicy notes. Used in borders with delicate and bright yellow, pink, purple, and blue cultivars. In wet weather the outer petals turn brown and the buds fail to open.
